Looking pretty high at the moment Location/link to where you are buying from, so specific recommendations can be made. What res do you use and what outcome do you want to achive with graphics? How high is high and how low is low in your opinion for what you want performance wise. Any bias on amd vs nividia for graphics? Budget is quite high. In terms of visuals, id prefer clean, crisp and clear visuals for gaming purposes. No i dont have a bias, as i said, completely new so open to suggestions

No i dont have a bias, as i said, completely new so open to suggestions Got one Welcome to occ mate Can you drive in to dingly and avoid shipping? I love the fact i live a short drive from there My wish list suggestion -You can spen far less for a mobo that will give all the performance you need. -With the SSD I don't see reason to load the os onto it and using a single 60gb SSD with intel SRT will give an overall boost to the pc. IF you are going to use it to load games onto raid 0 caviar blacks 500gb would be better more games and similar price for less money. -Case your decision always you have to live with looks. Don't think you will need rubber gasket try it first without then decide if you want/need it. Sleeve, sleeve away, looks good but you could probs get sleeving materials cheaper from jaycar -Cooler mixed metals and way overpriced in aus. For same cooling performance and less noise (more cooling than is needed for oc sandybridge) noctura. -RAM there is no way you will need 16gb, 8 will be perfect. -Money saved, go to better GPU don't get the 560 get the 560ti much better but if you go 560ti get the 6950 it scales way better in cf than 560 or 560ti does in sli. Any questions ask away
Le_13aron Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 so i hate to be an absolute nuisance and a pain, but could you perhaps create a wishlist on pccasegear (and link it ) so then i can see what you mean, because in all honesty, that was a whole lot of gobbledy gook to me ><. Im happy to save price as much as possible, and again, many many thanks for the help.
wevsspot Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 CPU Cooler CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=207_23_845&products_id=12544 or CPU Cooler Noctua NH-D14 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=207_23_845&products_id=13232 Motherboard MSI Z68A-GD65 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=138_711_1183&products_id=18480 or Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=138_711_1183&products_id=17724 Memory G.Skill F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL 8GB http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=186_538_913&products_id=18602 I'll take a break here and explain some of the features / reasoning on these choices. Motherboards - The MSI motherboard I recommended is an excellent board, has good PCIe slot spacing (if you decide to go SLi or Crossfire) and also has PCIe 3.0 lanes. Excellent choice for "future proofing" yourself with the next generation of video cards. The Gigabyte UD3 board is an outstanding board for the money. Has all of the features most anyone would want/need, plus GB boards are well respected for their quality, performance and reliability. CPU Cooler - the Noctua NH-D14 is simply one of the best (if not the best) cpu air cooling solution available. It easily outperforms most low end water cooling solutions at both stock and overclocked cpu frequencies at idle and under load conditions. However, you cannot beat the price/performance ratio of the Coolermaster Hyper 212+. Memory - The G.Skills I recommended are DDR3 1866Mhz rated, and have good timings at that speed with 1.5v - so If you plan on overclocking these will give you a little bit more headroom and flexibility to go with higher memory frequencies, or lower timing at DDR3 1600Mhz speed. wevsspot Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Part 2 Video cards - If you plan on going with two gpu's then I'd recommend the AMD HD6950. If you plan on going with a single card solution, personally I'd be trying to fit a GTX570 into the budget. Hard Drives - I love my SSD for boot/OS and a few of my favorite apps that can benefit from the reduced seek/access times and improved read speeds over a traditional hard drive. Accordingly you won't hear me trying to dissuade you from that decision. I like the fact that you're looking at a 120Gb drive at minimum. However, at this point I'd caution you against the OCZ drives with the Sandforce 2281 controller. OCZ is still tweaking firmware to fix a number of issues that users are having with both the Vertex and Agility versions of that drive. I've used the Agility 3 running firmware 2.11 and I didn't have any problems, but there is a wealth of evidence out in the wild that many others haven't been as lucky. The latest version firmware (2.15) has been released, but I didn't get the opportunity to try it before I sold the drive. With all of that being said, if I were going to buy a different SSD that's available at your link it would be the; Crucial M4 SSD 128GB http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=210_902_1247&products_id=17685 Use this drive as your boot drive, OS drive and put a few frequently used apps on it. Moving on to apps and storage. A perfect solution for a game/app drive would be two WD500 or WD640Gb drives in a RAID0 array. Read and write speeds are great (although you do lose the seek/access times of a SSD - you'll never notice the difference) I promise. Then a 1Tb or 2Tb drive for backup and storage. Other than the things I've mentioned in my two posts - I like everything else you've got going on. As someone pointed out earlier, I'd wait on the anti-vibration gasket and see if you really need it. My guess is that you wont.
Stonerboy779 Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 (edited) so i hate to be an absolute nuisance and a pain, but could you perhaps create a wishlist on pccasegear (and link it ) so then i can see what you mean, because in all honesty, that was a whole lot of gobbledy gook to me ><. Im happy to save price as much as possible, and again, many many thanks for the help. No problem thought I did. The link is embedded in "my wish list suggestion" it is set to public Wev has hit my main suggestions anyway. Actually pretty much listed them all Edit: @Wev what do you reckon, would the cheaper G. Skill 1600 cas 7 be better than the faster more expensive G. Skill RAM, that is price vs performance vs OCing. May be slightly less performing once overclocks are done (tho imo cas 7 1600MHx perfect) but would be very close and $20 odd dollars cheaper. http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=186_538_913&products_id=16929 Edited October 21, 2011 by Stonerboy779
