Mobo not detecting graphic cards when usb is connected

Recommended Posts

I've been getting this problem lately. I can't have any usb devices connected when I boot or else my graphic cards aren't detected.

It boots into windows only using the onboard graphics and blabla.

I use a fair amount of usb connections and it's annoying to take them out and in everytime I boot.

Any thoughts on what the problem might be?

It happens with both back and front ports.

are you booting into windows XP or windows7?

have you checked the bios settings to make sure onboard is completely disabled?

have you tried switching the USB ports directly on the motherboard?

since you are running SLI, try removing one card as well and see if the problem still occurs

clear the CMOS and update your bios if you have not yet

Well, it now detects only the top two ports where I have the keyboard and mouse.

I'm booting into win7

onboard is disabled

You could try a multi USB adapter. You can have over 30 devices connected to one USB port. I think the limit for USB 2.0 is 127 devices on one port.
