bunkachunk Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 hi all, I have the new gigabyt ga970a-ud3 mobo and had planed on getting the fx 6100 or the fx4100. has anyone had the chance or seen benchmark tests on these two? I'm thinking I should wait for the other ones to come out before making any purchase's so all the bios problems can be solved and any other problems w/ bulldozer can be worked out. Thanks...... Thanks...... amd has not yet produced any of them (i read it in some review) so the release will have to wait a while, and thus the benchmarks aswell. bunkachunk Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 yes, here: http://www.guru3d.com/article/amd-fx-8150--8120-6100-and-4100-performance-review/ thank you for the link. 980be and 975be are really strong over the fx6100 and the fx4100. I thought that they would perform a lot better seeing how there new technology. now I really cant decide what to buy!

Go for a 955 , and with o good cooler you can overclock him to 3,9 - 4 ghz and there you have a
HarryTaco Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 You are better off to buy a Phenom and perhaps a Mobo/CPU/Ram PhenomII X4 combo. Look at the performance for the money. Â Â

thanks Kwok, I have every thing I need , mobo memory, ect, just wanted to up-grade my Athlon ll x4 635 propus. befor bd I was going to get the 975be or the 980be. I'll probably get the 980be, not a big gamer, but a lot of encoding and trans-coding, watching movies, ect. yep the 980be and a 6950 to replace my sapphire 5770 vapor x, will do me just fine I think. It's a shame bd did not come through! I was really looking forward to getting one. Maybe later they will make some chip changes uh, and a few bios updates. I;m just going to wait and see what happens for about a month or so, but that 980be is looking oh so good!!! wevsspot Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 I'm still trying to figure out how AMD managed to miss the target by such a huge margin. I'm hoping that future motherboards, or maybe tweaked BIOS revisions for current boards will help improve performance.
bunkachunk Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 I'm still trying to figure out how AMD managed to miss the target by such a huge margin. I'm hoping that future motherboards, or maybe tweaked BIOS revisions for current boards will help improve performance. You would think that AMD, with all the pre testing and and new tech. that they would have seen that it "bd" was not going to compete w/ intel, and was going to be a bad performer. Maybe to much time and money invested just to let it go to the way side and take a loss. I think fan hype also played a big roll in a early release, before the bios revisions were out. amd and mobo makers just to greedy and all they did was to piss us off. we now have to wait and see if they can pull there head out of there a$$ and make good on all this.
