sys restore doesnt work

sys restore doesnt work what can be done to fix it?

More info about the problem would help. Whats going on that you need to restore, can you boot into safe mode, BSOD error code, etc

I installed 2 programs and the second did not go in right and Iran auslogics regcleaner I wanted to revert

I tried sys restore which wouldnt restore

only to find the 2nd porgram just needed a shortcut to the exe

Can you boot in safe mode?

So you can boot into Windows just fine but one of the programs you installed just wasn't working correctly? If so it doesn't sound like you should be doing a system restore anyways. Just uninstall/reinstall that program should be your first step. System restore should be one of the last steps before a complete reinstall of the OS.

 

Or did the regcleaner mess up your OS from booting? You could try booting from the OS disk and running the Recovery Console and using chkdsk /f if that is the case.
