Ok, after I spent 3 hours figuring out how to turn off the shutter sound for the camera (god that's annoying when you're trying to take a conspicuous photo in the office and suddenly the shutter goes off and everybody looks at you) because the option simply doesn't exist in the menu, I've decided to convert the podcasts to MP3 for now and then listen to them. It's a semi-fix, as the M4A ones allow for selection of individual songs in the podcasts etcetera... anyone know of a good app for that?

Supposedly doubleTwist has good podcast support. It also supports itunes syncing if you don't hate itunes.

Edit: Here's a way to turn off the shutter sound. It requires messing with the file system so you'll probably need something like ES File explorer to do it (it's a great app btw).

Doubletwist sounds pretty good, I'll check that out when I'm home on the WiFi. The way to turn the camera off that you described is something I tried, however it didn't work for some reason. I ended up going into the file system and renaming the files that make the shutter sound, so that they couldn't be found/played anymore.
