Recommended Posts

Title & Description says it all.

I recently found this tool and it is AWESOME. Highly recommended. Work with XP, Vista, Windows 7 - all flavors and both 32bit and 64bit systems.

Worked good, I had surprisingly less duplicates than I thought though.

Most were system files or unknown program files that I didn't dare delete.

Scanned my 128Gb OS SSD, 640Gb RAID0 Array and two 1Tb storage drives in about 3.5 minutes and found 5Gb worth of duplicate files :)

I like the summary report that shows you the file name, size, location and then then lets you decide whether to delete them or not.

A very nice app - especially considering the cost :)

Another good one I've used is Disk Boss http://www.diskboss.com/index.html . It comes in both paid and free versions, the free version does have some limitations over the Pro version. This is the description from thier website......

DiskBoss is an automated, rule-based file and disk management solution allowing one to perform disk space utilization analysis, file classification and categorization, duplicate files detection and removal, high-speed file synchronization and data migration, disk change monitoring, rule-based file organizing, data wiping and much more.

Supported Operating Systems: Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2003 Windows Server 2008, Windows Storage Server 2008, Windows Server 2012, Windows Storage Server 2012.

Nice find wevs, let's see what this baby can do.

Edit:  Not quite as much stuff as I expected, but I suppose that's a good thing.  Took off a little less than a gig though!
