First SSD

In day to day use it is really hard to tell the difference between most SSDs. Even the new SATA 3 drives while quicker are only barely noticeable in a speed boost in real world performance over older SSDs. The reason is in real world computing experience the seek time, not bandwidth is king in storage, and there all SSDs are pretty much created equal. When you throw traditional HDs into the mix that all changes and SSDs blow past HD in real world computing experience.

This holds true until you start installing things - I noticed a HUGE improvement in game install times going from a single drive to a RAID 0 setup. Granted, that's just about the only thing that feels faster, but I would guess load times are slightly better as well too.

Still - like you said - nearly any SSD is better than a mechanical drive. The difference is phenomenal.
