what is the best Asus MB for overclocking (LGA775)

i want to play around with the BUS speeds and volts insted of the multipliers and core volts, so all i want to do is build up a cheap rig on secondhand parts(old things i dont use) just to play around with the clocking

 

 

Thats why I didn't get into sandybridge after I sold my C2D rig. Overclocking by upping a multiplier and core volts just didn't seem quite as much fun.

I'd go Gigabyte for any P45 motherboards, not ASUS

 

 

You might be hard pressed to find a p45 chipset board that supports ddr2 though...

 

Iviythos would be the best person to find that kind of stuff though

I know what you mean ,but he will be spending money learning on an 775 mb and cpu which oc's quite a bit differently than an i7 system.

Learning the basic process works across all boards.

 

So yeah, learning on 775 isn't going to hurt him at all.

Gigabyte has a cheap P45 motherboard right now, I forget what it's called. It sells for around $80 from Newegg. Only catch is that it uses DDR3.
