well its been a little while since the last time i was on here, i just got my new ssd today and im still getting everything going again, a while back i started a topic on having a job interview, and if you read that topic then you know i got that job, well the orielly's i work at is next door to the dodge dealer, and i drove by everyday going to work in the family minivan, and on one of my days off, i went in to take a peek at some pick up trucks, and after combing through the used inventory i was chatting with the salesman about the dodge ram express, i saw the truck on the tv show stacey david's gearz, on the speed channel, the next thing i know im inside filling out a credit app, those idiots approved me! the next thing i know im spec'ing one out, and at a moment of weakness i speacial ordered my ram, and i got it delivered in person to my work on wednesday, i got it in silver becuase i want to do a black and silver two tone, and i thought it would be cheaper to have it silver and add the black than the other way around, its basically a base express, with all the keyless and electric options put on, its a shortbed reg. cab 2wd, soon to be corvette killer, with 20's on it, and as soon as i rake up enough dough im dropping it off at chux trucks in kansas city for a lowering kit, exhuast, edelbrock e force blower, and other goodies, although i probabably cant afford it i saw a stroker kit to punch out the 5.7 to a massive 6.9L, and yes basically i sign my paycheck over to the chrysler corp.

sorry about the wall of text but i just had to tell someone who just might understand all of this.

You officially have to change your name now. :P

Sounds like a pretty sweet truck. With all the future upgrades, should look and sound a whole lot sweeter. Any pics yet or not until the two tone is finished?

well i dont have a camera so i would have to borrow one from my sister, but i'll get some pics up before the two tone, the paint will probably be the last thing i do to it, and with the payments i have to make on this thing on top of the not so amazing gas mileage, it will be a long painfull process, also the way i have been driving it, i will need new tires in the rear within a couple weeks

I understand.......Back in 2004 I took my perfectly good 2002 4.7 equipped Ram to the dealer to trade it in on a truck that looked just like it but with the 5.7, 20's and a few other options I wanted on the truck I did not get on the 02. Needless to say the wife was not amused but I got what I want. Now that the warranty is up and things are starting to need maintenance the bug is hitting again. I just do not favor the newer look as much. But since I just replaced the flowmaster exhaust that rusted out with a stainless Magnaflow system, put new stainless steps on it, and will be putting a new diff in it to replace the track lok that spit the clutch retaining clips out in shards I still like my truck.

Welcome to the dark side BTW!:cheers:

Did you get the 3.92s when you ordered it? If not I think some 4.10/11s would go nicely :D And a posi too of course

no i took the standard 3.55s becuase it would be a waste to get the 3.92s becuase yes i had 4.11s in mind when i saw that option, and it already has some form of posi, i forget what its called but it leaves two very thick black marks every time

when I first saw this title I thought you said you just bought a hummer, lol
its good that you got a truck you like
my first car was used but I loved it
I like the hemi engine but those charger/magnum stationwagon things, I just dont understand what people are thinking sometimes

my advice to you-
dont bother with too many performance upgrades
take it slow and buy things that affect ride quality and comfort
dont worry about going fast and all that crap until you have some money saved up - meaning money where you can enjoy life instead of just fixing your car
I also dont think you should lower the car right off the bat - at least give the stock suspension some time
I know more than one person that bought a new truck, lowered it, shaved all the door handles and later regretted it

btw, how much was the final price on your car?
my dad bought a 2011 Ford truck and he paid close to 40k which I find redonkulous

the express model is supposed to be really cheap, like 21 grand, and thats good for any brand new truck, even without a hemi, i have mine spec'd to just shy of 30, and i have already put 250 miles on it, and just from the ride alone i can still tell its a truck, i'm going to try to get it to handle more like a car

boss, i am having trouble finding stuff for my truck, especially exuast kits, i work at a parts store that has a very large availibility of performance parts from many vendors, and i cant find anything for it, other than the lowering kit from belltech and edelbrock's blower, i figured i would have to have a custom system done, maybe i just need to wait a while
