Black64 Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Be yourself. Be early. (at least 15 min) Dress appropriately. (Better over dressed than under.) Take your time answering questions to ensure you answer them well. Don't be afraid to ask for clarification if you are unsure. Research the employer. Find out as much about what they do, and try get something specific which makes you want to work for them. +1 those are excellent tips. Kamikaze_Badger Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 ok and i just found out my father knows the manager who is giving me the interview, i think he is the top guy at that store so that could help me, but even so i wouldnt feel right if i got hired just becuase my dad is friends with him, and they had someone else more qualified that didnt get the job And that there is the first step to getting up the ladder. I got my first job because my mother worked at the firm. My second and current job was because my girlfriend's step-dad dad is the mechanic for a guy who was dating an employee who got me in (no joke). My brother works at a private hospital in Chicago as an IT Tech, he got that job because his father in law works in upper management. Hard work and skill are definitely a big part, but connections are everything.
MercuryDoun Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 so pretty much the guy that stands behind the counter and tells you your warranty is no good because you bought it on a tuesday and installed it on a friday, when you should have waited till saturday, and becuase you didnt lube the bolts, and over tightned them, and had 4 beers when the warranty specifically states no less than 5, while 3 of your buddys watch you when at least one of them needs to help Say this ^ If you make them laugh... they will hire you, it always works for me. Even if its a serious job, it doesnt mean you cant have a sense of humor. It also shows that you can deal with stress.
