Deathmineral Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Winamp for music and MPC for everything else. VLC is yucky. screwed op my cyberlink disk and want a free player to replace it Just try VLC or MPC, I haven't and can't test it myself but I would imagine they can play it. Deathmineral Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 You might also need a good codec pack for something like that as well if you don't already have one loaded. Personally K-Lite is my favorite codec pack.
WhenKittensATK Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 On my PC: KM Player + Zune On my Laptop: KM Player + Zune + Media Player Classic Home Cinema (if HD video is too much for KM Player on the laptop).

dr_bowtie Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 WMP for music and then MPC and VLC for video. Â Pretty much the same for me.... Â I use WMC myself as I prefer it for scaling and the Aspect ratio...WMP for music and the kids watch movies with it. VLC is also installed but is rather grainy in Vista or Win7 so I dont like it. I havent used any other players in a long time....I prefer simple especially in the HTPCs so they mainly use WMC
IVIYTH0S Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 It also installs Media Player Classic Home Cinema WHICH RULES! and VLC picks up the VERY rare stragglers which it can't run
Deathmineral Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 It also installs Media Player Classic Home Cinema I guess they added that since I last tried it then, I knew K-Lite did that so that's always been the obvious choice for me in codec packs. Rosco Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Try KMPlayer With a little tweeking it can do full digital playback for both audio an video (not sure if that helps ) Also you can try media player classic home cinema but again I don't really know as I dont have a bluray player but they both work great for HD playback.
