l1o2l Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Got a new build - SB 2600k (plan to OC ) Dunno what motherboard yet :/ 2x2 gb DDR3 2 HDs 1 TV tuner and 1 6970. Would my current PSU run the system 100% stable? Antec states that the PSU is 550 watt continuous, meaning that its able to output 550 watts constantly. bgnatewv2 Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 I would think so... I definitely wouldn't buy a new PSU until you give it a try. Maybe look at getting something around 750w to 850w in teh future
momosmokey Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 550 Watts is the minimum you should have with an HD6970. As long as the power supply is of good quality and you trust its efficiency, you're good to go.
Black64 Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 I think a 650 would be a safe PSU. 550 would be a little low.
IVIYTH0S Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 If you aren't overclocking 550W is perfectly fine, but if you want to overclock then get a 650W. Want to CF get a 750W, and if you want to overclock AND CF then get a 850W

Drdeath Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 (edited) 550W may not be enough. It depends on what brand and model PSU. Surprised nobody mentioned this. List the make and model OP. Edited July 3, 2011 by Drdeath
