haha yeah, I am going to get the 212 cooler I was thinking since I don't plan on going past 4ghz. Should I even go to 4ghz since I just will be gaming? I don't want to hurt anything!
My cpu temp is currently around 50-60 while using the internet and figuring all this stuff out.

btw I want to do this 'stress test' to make sure everything is safe, except this dreaded code AA, how would I go about doing this? Also finding all the drivers I need?

just google prime 95 and download it, also download hardware monitor and use that to keep check on your temps, I have an amd cpu so not 100% sure what temps intels run at, but I'm sure all the guys on this site will let you know what they should be at ,you'll get a lot of help from this here, good bunch of folks.

yes i PLAYED alot of eq2, i don't play any more, I was pretty hardcore into it for a few years, then i decided to stop when several of my online friends stoped. It is a fun game, I enjoyed it alot, although I started to dislike it more and more towards the end as it became more and more wow-ish and super easy. eq1 was and still is probably the best mmorpg out there unfortunately the graphic in that game are maxed out buy a geforce ti200 which is like a 10 year old graphics card, so it's not much fun to look at. You can play EQ2 for free tho if you want to test it out they have free servers you can play on. just goto everquest.com and there should be a link on there some were to the free play server and game download. I think they mentione wow has like a new free play till lvl 20 thing now too, if you wanted to try it as well.

awesome man, I will definitely download that and try it out, would my 8500gt play 2 without hiccups? I was looking at that new guild wars 2 also.

not sure what you mean by 2 i'll assume 2 accounts on same machine, if so yes you just prolly want to go gumby mode on the graphics. I used to run 3 accounts on my main system which had 3 x gtx280 and 2 accounts on my laptop which has a gtx260M in it. I would have to turn it down a notch from balanced for this, but the lower you go the fast the fps. that game is pretty crazy on graphics, on full on everything up mode it will tax a gtx 580 sli setup. most atribute it to poor codeing, but TBH I think it's just due to intesnity of the graphics engine, it's pretty amazing looking with everything on, I can't say I have ever seen a game that looks as good as it does, maybe some of the futuremark benchmarks come close thats it tho, no real games that are playable.

Well looks like you will be using at least a GTX570 for that kind of money. Nice looking build. and Just a minor note the Hyper 212 HSF should get you a bit higher then 4ghz Easily if you wanted too. If your ready I would go ahead and overclock it but if your not ready for it then thats cool. It will keep it good and cool. :D

Nice choice in components in that case. I would look for a GTX570 for the VGA, Good card pound for pound.

should I or do I need to run SLI, I heard that it can actually make games less functional cause the games try to run off 2 cards? Idk just what someone told me. I am very nervous to oc yet since I am still with the stock fan from the i7 2600k...I am going to order the 212 or something alike next month or so. I have a 19" dell monitor, resolution is set at 1280x1024

I am so happy with the build, I think I still need to update certain drivers and there are minor things I want but I was running portal 2, duke nukem, and starcraft 2 all at the same time was able to switch between them without any problems. Although I could only run them all at medium graphics cause my 8500gt sucks... :(

Also is there a way to stop the windows ultimate from saying are you sure you want to allow access from this unknown program...blablabla. everytime I try to run half the things on the comp that comes up...I saw I can take it from doing that all together but wasn't sure if its a helpful tool. also is 80c temp okay for the cpu? when I did stress testing it got all the way to 81c and I was like crap and turned it off =/ when playing games like SC2 I only saw it reach 50-60c

is this the best card for my money? I have always been a nvidia fan (although I have never had a radeon) and from all of the research I have done it looks like nvidia is on top for the time being. I just want to get the best car possible for my money. Is EVGA the best company to go with on the nvidias? It has been my first choice but some feedback is always nice. Is the 580 worth the extra cash? also I want it to be HD.

ty very much, I told my girl I was going to spend half what I did. while i was researching I just felt it was the smarter choice to do it right the first time and get a pc that would last a very long time. My prev dell XPS 400 I had from 2005 until now and it ran all my games and did everything I needed from a pc, but now that newer games are requiring so much more from a pc and my hdd crashed in the dell I had to upgrade! =]

I just want to say that I highly recommend Dell to people who don't want to build their own. my monitor, mouse, and pc as a whole lasted over 6 years (everything but hdd is still running strong)
