For my WRT54GS V1 I used just a sliver of TIM for each heatsink. nope, i just stuck those with my good ol double sided adhesive tape. i guess there's good enough heat transfer somehow cause i tried to touch those staples after long runs and it kinda warm/hot. i have some left over TIM here.... just got lazy lol.
