Im hoping to game at around 1080p on lowest settings and run smooth at like 30FPS

Why Merc ?

The specs just seem to be on the 8800GTX's side , 86GB/s bandwirdth compared to 50GB/s . 24 ROPs compared to 16 ROPS . 384 bit mem compared to 128 bit . 32 Texture Address Units compared to 16 TAU

Only thing is that looks different is that the one is DDR3 and other is DDR5

But the 8800GTX has more mem and the power consumption is higher (but a good 600 watt should handle a 8800GTX)

Lol, my first thought entering this post was:

:pfp: , not again, Nyt! :P

Lol yeah but there isnt much higher I can go from dual 580's :P

The 8800GTX is in very good condition , I've also heard that they can clock high to get 100+ Gb/s bandwidth .

This card will soon be put under water hopefully .

Also got some more offers ...

The 4770 deal is around $45 in converted currency while theres a 8800GT 512mb for the same price of $45

The 8800GTX and GTS250 is $60

While someone has a GTS450 for $80 which is out of my budget

What should I get ?

Project Volturnus is a prototype watercooling build , so far its just the cpu planned but the gpu may be wc'ed soon which is why Im kinda leaning to a 8800GT 512mb .

8800GTX

LMAO, Capi I was thinking the same thing!

The 8800 was the beast of it's time! I even still have one :) I would def go with it! You also won't see much of a difference between the GT and GTX, but if you can spring for the extra $15, then why not ;)
