Fogel Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 olokul: My first thought i saw your long and distinguished list, was: Has he played ANY games, WTF Then I read your opening paragraph - the list caught my eye first in case you wondering why i didn't start with your opener. I think Jim is trying to keep this thread to games you have not played, but he is the OP. As far as my list goes, well... if i was home I could give an accurate list but from memory: PC - Metro 2033 - Torchlight - Titan Quest + Immortal Throne - L4D and L4D2 - Warhammer - Audio Surf (only because I don't keep MP3s on my machine - games only) - Psychonaughts - CoD: WaW, CoD2, CoD: MW1 - Defense Grid - STALKER (2 games) - C&C (tons of them - maybe all) - Crysis Warhead - LotR: Online <<< that was full price - still feel stupid on this one Console - FF2, FF3, FF4, FF5, FF6, FF8, FF12 - Boom Blocks - Metroid Prime 3: Corruption ...well I played 5min and shelved till I could finish Echoes (hasn't happened) - Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - Assassin's Creed - Jade Empire - Disgaea 2 - Phantom Brave Damn RPGs and their time requirement scare me off. bilcliff Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Damn RPGs and their time requirement scare me off. i hate grinding. the only reason i ever managed to finish FF 8,9,10 were because i used a gameshark to max levels stats etc. to get rid of the grinding. they were good stories etc but its the grinding that often makes me put down a game and not go back to it. some of my games ill never get to finish because they're too dated to be appreciated i.e hitman codename 47, GTA 3, HL1. Not only because graphics have long since improved but also because game mechanics have improved making the games more realistic. i.e. in early gtas you drown in water, now you dont etc.

Actually I didn't play HL1 until last year, nostalgia doesn't really play a role in it, It's just a really good game. Game mechanics is kind of negligible because something like not being able to swim in GTA3 doesn't really hinder the game, I mean all of the attractions of the game are on land after all, even in the later games. Personally I felt the gameplay was better in earlier GTA games, GTA 4 really screwed up some of the best stuff in these games, for example: driving. Liclac Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 hmm....Alcatraz Tycoon, Ghost Recon 2, Blazing Angels 2, not many I think, I am not a hardcore gamer, so I just bought games which I like...

IMO not being able to swim did hinder GTA3. i always seemed end up in the water by accident & therefore dead. and i agree with them going one step too far with gta iv. ahh to hell with it. i'm going to download GTA3 on steam now. i've never played the pc version, only the ps2. Actually my experience with the PC version of GTA games is terrible, Rockstar just isn't very supportive of the PC. Can't say I ever ended up in the water on there aside from doing stunt jumps or something silly like that.
ivangela Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 someone clearly the potato sack the unplayed category speaks for itself. EDIT: re-read the topic. PS3: -Unchartered 2 (still havent finished Unchartered 1) How do you get steam to display these subcategories?

Guest_Jim_* Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Honestly I'm just saddened when I hear people say stuff like this, especially when it's a great game like HL1 or GTA3. I'm playing HL1 after having completed all the HL2 and the episodes, and I'm not just grinding. While I do wish the graphics were better, the thing that really annoys me is I keep trying to hit shift to sprint, but that's the walk (slow). I also had some issues with it not responding to my commands, but that could have been an FPS thing in general, where you can't see you're trapped in the geometry, and that's why you can't jump.
