geckyl Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 (edited) Unlocked third and fourth core Win 7 64 starts up and everything is fine. Temps idle around 100F with stock HSF. Computer powers down suddenly with no increase in temp apparently. Looking for help and advice. I understand that my equipment (except CPU) is not listed as good for unlocking or overclocking in the guides on this site. I have read several. I'm looking for tips like disabling spread spectrum and using ACC functions. I have tried running as a triple core or quad and Windows starts up and runs fine but then shuts down within minutes or after 30 minutes or so depending on how hard I push the system (gaming). I have also reduced the multiplier on the cores to 3 GHz and it seems to not crash as quickly. Runs fine at 100F as dual core overclocked to 4 GHZ with stock HSF. Any help here? IVIYTH0S Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 maybe try the voltage up a little, it's possible that the other cores are unstable at any amount of voltage (also watch the temperatures while you bump voltage)
