JJDARK21 Posted May 11, 2011 so everything is fine now and 6990 is running fine so i just wanted to know my idle temps are 64c sometimes it comes down to 59c but not all the time mostly it stucks at 64c do you guys think that 64c is very high for idle temps or its ok for a 6990 considering my old 4870x2 idlled at 73c i think cooling in 6990 is far much better what do u guys think? Black64 Posted May 11, 2011 (edited) Wow both of those temps are high. What case do you have? Your GPU may not be getting enough airflow. My 6850 never idles above 35c (Load 49C) Edited May 11, 2011 by Black6464
imm0rt41 Posted May 11, 2011 My 6970 has yet to go over those temps for it's full load...and it was running over 1GHz core for a while. Sounds like you're not getting enough airflow to the card
DanTheGamer11 Posted May 11, 2011 is your load temps around 89-90?
Waco Posted May 11, 2011 Wow both of those temps are high. What case do you have? Your GPU may not be getting enough airflow. For a dual GPU card they aren't bad at all. The 4870X2 idles in the mid to high 70s and the 5970s in the mid to high 60s. Looks like the 6990 is right on track there as well.
