IDEs:

Dev-C++: http://www.bloodshed.net/devcpp.html Free and Open Source C++ IDE compatible with GCC compilers. Also can be downloaded and installed with the MingW Compiler. Very powerful and useful tool.

You might want to copy and paste the VIsual C++ Express link down to the IDE section as well.

Java IDE: Eclipse (also have a C/C++ IDE, but I can't vouch for it never used it.)

Java API Specification (Very useful for find out how to use certain classes in Java.)

Assembly Language: QtSpim (MIPS32 Simulator)

Text Editors:

Notepad++

Vim/gVim (Derek Wyatt's Vim Novice Tutorial Videos and VIM cheatsheet)

Class Videos from Dr. Archibald (VCC professor): COP 1006 Introduction to Programming Concepts (Intro to C), COP 2220 C Programming, and COP 2800 Java Programming.

He's a little monotone, but it gets the job done with on the fly coding and debugging. These are his complete teaching videos for his online classes, minus the tests and book.

Programmer Dvorak Keyboard Layout (For those who already use or want to learn Dvorak/Programming)
