jammin Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 yeah, I'll cut a piece and see what it looks like then. I'll be on vacation for a week starting tomorrow, so there won't be any more updates until I get back most likely.

Silverfox Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I would personally just get a fresh sheet; aluminium would look "wrong" in my opinion and because you know that join is there, you won't be happy until it is done properly. Remember - I know you
bp9801 Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Yeah, I'd also say to get a fresh sheet. Make take a bit of extra work, but it'd look better without the aluminum strip there.

Maybe he could even take the time and make a front 'grille' style trim that would be spaced at common 51/4 bay height?
jammin Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I may end up getting another piece of vinyl to redo it, depends what an aluminium strip looks like.
zackhaf Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 What about wrapping the aluminum around both sides of the case? it would help break up the carbon fibre some and could help it to stand out a little. With all the crosshatching of the carbon it might look like a funky illusion box if you stare at it long enough
Boinker Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 cannot wait to see it finished. keep up the good work.
sticknstone Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 The mdf Auto ignition Temperature: 425 - 475 degrees Fahrenheit. Please keep the pc below this temp, or fire will occur. With the case sitting there I am thinking it needs some sort of feet.
Hoopa Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Seriously nice hand work man! I'm impressed. Does not look hacked together in the slightest. Might I suggest 1.8mm stretch magic elastic cord for suspending the hard drives: http://www.amazon.com/Stretch-Magic-1-8mm-Bead-Jewelry/dp/B001C1Y174/ref=sr_1_1?s=arts-crafts&ie=UTF8&qid=1309062399&sr=1-
