NoobModder Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 I was wondering if anyone can give me suggestions on what fans I should replace the fans in my NZXT Guaridan 921 with. As far as I have read on the internet it came with stock fans and I am looking to put fans that will draw more air in and out of the case. I was looking at Thermaltake 120mm Sickleflow Fans. Also any suggestions about a better CPU cooler are welcome. Black64 Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 The noctua ones are great. Cool and high air flow.

IVIYTH0S Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 How well is the MaxOrb cooling your core 2??
NoobModder Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 How well is the MaxOrb cooling your core 2?? It keeps the core 2 around 40-45 at idle and 50-60 under a full load. Room tempartures are 77-78 F.
rocketeer55 Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 I use the Cooler Master Sickle-flow fans, they look nice, move a lot of air, but can get a little noisy. They also don't like to be mounted horizontally.... But for vertical they work fine.
IVIYTH0S Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 and that's at stock speeds??
NoobModder Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 (edited) Those temps are at stock speeds on everything. SLI was enabled when I took those readings. Edited May 2, 2011 by NoobModder
NoobModder Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 (edited) Also I bought this system in early 09. I'm thinking I should probably reapply some thermal paste. The dust covers that came with the case aren't the best and I hope to mount aftermarket dust covers on the two intake fans. I'm also considering just buying a Coolermaster HAF 932 from the reviews I've read about it. Edited May 2, 2011 by NoobModder
RealNeil Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 I Used Enermax Magma UC-MA12 fans for my i7-870 rig's water radiator. one pushes and the other pulls air through. They move 69.15 CFM of air and generate only 18dBA of noise.
IVIYTH0S Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Your cpu cooler doesn't seem to be much better than the stock intel. I'd get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835106150R
NoobModder Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 So I've got $100 that I can spend on a new CPU cooler. I've read the reviews and am still a little concerned about getting a closed loop Liquid Cooling system but could be convinced. I was thinking about one of these after looking through a bunch of them. I don't plan on overclocking but could eventually want too. I am basically looking to get the best cooling heatsink that will fit in my case. For what I'm going to spend I'm considering buying the HAF 932. Any Suggestions. http://www.frozencpu.com/products/9624/cpu-noc-15/Noctua_NH-U12P_SE2_CPU_Heat_Sink_With_2_Noctua_Fans_-_Socket_AM2AM377513661156.html?tl=g48c369s52 http://www.frozencpu.com/products/9946/cpu-noc-17/Noctua_NH-U9B_SE2_CPU_Heat_Sink_With_Dual_Noctua_Fans_-_Socket_77511561366AM2AM2AM3.html?tl=g48c369s52#blank http://www.frozencpu.com/products/9945/cpu-noc-16/Noctua_NH-D14_6-Heatpipe_CPU_Heat_Sink_With_Dual_Noctua_Fans_-_Socket_775_1156_1366_AM2_AM2_AM3.html?tl=g48c369s52 http://www.frozencpu.com/products/12557/ex-wat-165/Antec_KUHLER_H2O_620_High_Performance_Liquid_Cooling_System.html?tl=g30c83s137 http://www.frozencpu.com/products/11037/cpu-tta-55/Thermaltake_Frio_Dual_120mm_Universal_CPU_Cooler_CLP0564_Sockets_LGA_775_1156_13966_AM2_AM2_AM3.html#blank
