bklyn1028 Posted April 29, 2011 I know this will sound riduculously strange, but I have no idea how dd-wrt got on my lynksis WRT54G
bklyn1028 Posted April 29, 2011 router. I went to lynksis web page to port forward for my grandson for Beyond games, and there was dd-wrt page. I don't know if it is secured, Damn, I don't know how the sucker got on there. I DID NOT FLASH my router, seriously. Anyone have any thoughts on this? And, also for some strange reason, now I can't get any co-op servers to show up for call of duty world at war.
JBags Posted April 29, 2011 You didnt supply any prior setup history/info in your post, so I'm guessing here. Have you done any previous setup with the router, or did you just buy it, hook it up and walked away cause everything worked? I ask because I believe they sell some versions of that router with dd-wrt already on it. So if you just hooked it up and walked away, this is probably the case. However, if you set it all up when you bought it, and you knew it had stock linksys firmware... then that is indeed a mystery. I can't say i know you or your family, but maybe there's another in your fam that's tech savvy enough to have installed it?

I bought it about 5 or so years ago, and yes I set it up for security. I added ports so my grandson can get on xbox live about a year and half ago. It was lynksis, not dd-wrt. So I am baffled. And NO, no one in my house can change the tv channel, let alone get into a router's software...lol. No one did anything to it. It is very frustrating. fire_storm Posted April 29, 2011 Well there are a couple of ways that could narrow down the time frame when the dd-wrt firmware was installed When you go into the router setup at the top should give the firmware version which has a date when the firmware was released so you could concluded that the firmware was installed on your router on or after that firmware release data You could also go into the bandwidth logs by clicking Status > WAN and then click previous month button until you see there is no more bandwidth usage although this might not work if someone has cleared out the logs sometime in the past or you haven't used your connection for long periods of time or the old logs were deleted some how
