d3athsd00r Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Can anyone point me to an updated wii modding site or guide? Everything seems to be about 3 years old now and I'm fairly positive the Wii should still be getting software updates.
WhenKittensATK Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 I used this tutorial to softmod 2 Wii's http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faqs-guides-tutorials-only/60921-guide-softmod-any-wii.html I would suggest reading it in full before you start. Andrewr05 Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 I do not remember what I used but my Wii is updated to the newest Firmware from Nintendo (as of about 2-3 months ago, haven't checked recently) and it still lets me play all of my emulators and use GeeXboX for videos. So no matter how old it is it can't hurt to just use whatever you find.
ir_cow Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 (edited) i second wiihacks but watch out and make sure you are reading a guide for your system version. that website is very unorganized and you can brick your wii really easily if you read the wrong guide. the great thing about softmod is your can still play online and the nintendo store still works Edited April 24, 2011 by hornybluecow
d3athsd00r Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 I just updated it to 4.3. So if anyone can find a decent looking guide that would really help.
WhenKittensATK Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Ow, 4.3 firmware requires you to use certain Wii games to mod it. Should have kept it under 4.3 firmware.

dr_bowtie Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 http://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&channel=s&hl=en&source=hp&biw=1283&bih=816&q=Wii+bannerbom&btnG=Google+Search I used the bannerbom mod for adding Homebrew and it works for me and I think I have the 4.3 firmware...I could be wrong as I had to do it 3 months ago as a game I loaded updated the firmware and took out my homebrew so i did the latest patch and it worked no issue....
