Not sure about the Asrock board, ive heard good things about the brand though. lol sorry men ^^, the board i havent been able to test it a lot but a friend of mine is actually telling me EVERYTIME that he loves this board lol maybe because itss cheap and it does the job and the brand yeah they are awesome without been high price they actually beat MSI for the 3 spot of top motherboards manufacters so, the 3 cores it actually a beast men for the price uuuff you really get price/per cause of this for games that pretty much his need and if he is lucky and with some investigation he probably can get to unlock the 4 core so yeah awesome, maybe he dont wanna go last gen but men the 5850 its really a awesome card and that for 144.00 its even stronger that the 6850 and cheaper hope this help
VaporX Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 You can save about $30 and go with a 770 based motherboad: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128451 Personally I would go with Kingston or Corsair for the RAM. On the CPU the x3 suggestion is solid, if you are set on quad get the Phenom II 840 for just a few doallrs more. For video you could shave another $20 if you go with a GTX 460 (768) and would get similiar performance. Only other area to cut would be in the monitor by cutting to a 20". Nice LG for about $35 less. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824005146 Is a lower resolution but lets you tweak down the price. potatochobit Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 (edited) I would also recommend you do a phenom II X3 the reason being, is the 940 is a bit of an old stepping unless they changed it the new X3's are actually based off 965s and 970 processor dies I prefer AMD and I own a 6850 myself, but if you need to save money you should be able to find a 460GTX 1GB pretty cheap with rebate I know an AMD 5770 was selling for 89$ which is a good deal as well if you can scrape any extra money, you can also probably find a 60GB OCZ Agility2 for 99$ which i recommend edit: the X3 from yuridude is a good buy but his also seems to be the old one, I am still using the same one the X3 740 is the new steppings Edited April 22, 2011 by potatochobit
