dr_bowtie Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 I would have to agree some of the greatest frontman were way back in the day. Band from way back like The Yard Birds, Cream, Traffic and a bunch of others like Sabbath, Deep Purple, Rush, The Guess Who and The Who. Singers who really stand out are Ozzy, Ronny Jame Dio, Steve Perry, Don Henly There are just too many to say there is any one greatest frontman or woman

Rokkaholik Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 (edited) When people do or set up these kind of polls, they usually can only think of their "Favorite" band or singer as I've noticed through the years on my music messageboards... When I do them, I don't necessarily look at who's "hot", who has the best range or who has had the most platinum albums. When someone uses the term "Frontman", I think of a Showman/leader/takes command type of singer, and someone who can genuinely interract with the crowd all night and every night. To me, those Frontmen (in the rock music area anyway) are: Freddie Mercury Bono Steve Perry Paul Stanley David Lee Roth Bruce Dickinson Jon Bon Jovi Ted Nugent Robert Plant Edited June 19, 2011 by Rokkaholik
