8-bit, anybody?

Recommended Posts

Remember those old days before mainstream consoles, before the red ring of death, before the PS1? The days of handheld-consoles with their rectangular shapes, green screens, and Tetris was on the rave? Well, remember the kick-butt music that came along with it? Ah, the 8-bit soundtracks that were cutting edge of the time for a gaming system. Well, today, it's rather easy to find people who make music based off those original sound schemes. To get us started off, I'll post something from newgrounds, a sound entitled 'Taking a Nap in the Jungle' by 'Fantomenk' and '8-bit Spaceship' by 'HarraH'.

My exposure to 8bit music is limited, but I found

to be decent. it definitely seems that a lot more thought was put into composition for video games back in the 8bit soundtrack days.

There is some "wub wub wub step" that has a 8/16 bit kinda sound, some of it pretty dope too.
