phenom 2 x4 955 overclockering

I would like some advice on overclocking my 955.

 

System:

 

gigabyte 890fxa-ud5

 

2 x 2gig g skill rip jaws ddr3 1600 cl 7-8-7-24 1.5v

 

2 gigabyte 6850 crossfire

 

my temps are 34c idle

 

I was thinking about using amd overdrive to overclock with. This program any good?

I would do it through the BIOS, so that your settings won't be changed. I know some programs will apply the changes when you load it up, but I just don't like using the programs to do that kind of stuff. BIOS, to me, is the best way.

 

I got mine up to 4.0ghz in the BIOS. Still runs cool and no issues so far.

could you post your OC BIOS settings by any chance? I have a 955 too and its giving me a bit of trouble and I just wanted to have an idea of where things should be

Is it a C2 or C3 phenom2 cpu chip?

 

Knowing this will tell you how much you can push it without pushing your voltage.
