FalconFX4 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 I was browsing through Ncix's sales and came across this SSD http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=53309&vpn=OCZSSD2%2D2VTXE120G&manufacture=OCZ%20Technology&promoid=1306 I have been watching this one with the thought of maybe purchasing it. This is the cheapest ive seen it get, Im currently running a WD Caviar Black 640gb 32mb Sata 2 drive. I know there will be quite a performance jump but is it worth the price tag yet or the downsides of SSD's??...... I am just looking for any ones opinions regarding this SSD and the purchase of a SSD in general. Thanks Other Computer Specs q6600 2.4ghz Oem motherboard 4gb DDr2 800mhz ram Ati Radeon 5770 1 gb WD 640gb Caviar black primary drive , WD 1tb Caviar green storage
downndirty79 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 I don't think you can really go wrong adding an SSD to your system. Short boot times would really add a lot of pep to your rig. I've got the same CPU as you, and I'm also thinking of taking the SSD plunge. Maybe others with actual SSDs can chime in. VaporX Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 SSDs make a noticeable change in the real world usage of a PC. Make sure you put your OS and most often used apps or games on the SSD to get maximum return.
