RE: "will your mb support sata 3 ? "

Good question. How do I check?

It does support AHCI - that I do know as looked in the BIOS under Sata.

Update:

Per ASUS description:

" Connect up to six SATA drives at 3Gb/s for high-speed data transfers as well as the option for multiple RAID configurations. "

look at the mb details either on line or in the owners manual. it will tell you sata speeds. sata1,2and 3=1gig,3gigand 6gig data transfer rates.

If the board will not support sata 3 then the cruical 300 will not give the speeds it posts for max. Its a sata 3 drive.

if your motherboard is sata 2 or lower and you want super fast speeds then you may look at the revodrive. Its a pci-e drive.
