Maybe a different motherboard so you can overclock. You could also get a P4 with Hyper-Threading

I would go the AMD route if your wanting to spend $700 on it. I originaly built me 2500+ system for $700 but i think now ive put over 1k into it.
So this is liek where you put your systems specs eh? Ok.....

AMD Athlon 64 3200+
DFI Lanparty NF4
Silverstone sexy case
BFG 7800 GTX 256mb
PQI 1gig PC3200 x2 512mb sticks
OCZ Powerstream 520watt psu
1 tb hdd space.
WD rapter 10krpm hdd (36gb)

I would say either get water cooling or put it away until you can save up some more money so that you can get which ever chip you like and what ever mb you wish. that way there would be no skimping on the details, yah know.

752 dollars? That's an odd number (no I don't mean..ah screw it)

Anyway, that translates to what, over a grand CDN? If I had a grand to spend on a computer (*thinks back to beginning of the year*) I would get mod equipment. A nice 500 watt power supply, all sorts of things from here, and if there's money left, I'll probably get any sort of hardware upgrade I don't have (like a bigger hard drive, or faster cd-rw, or maybe a dvd +/- rw).

But that's what I would get. What do YOU need?

I spent less than that on my A64 3400+ setup. I already had really good RAM and HDDs, and all the other stuff.
