Kamikaze_Badger Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Do you have a Hijack This log? Also, have you checked the registry to make sure that it's set to use a proxy? Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Current Version -> Internet Settings, and make sure that ProxyEnable is set to "0". Fight Game Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 It doesn't do it very often If it was a virus / malware / (call it what you want), then I'm pretty sure it would do it every single time. To only do it once in awhile makes me think that maybe its the website. Maybe it, or the path to it, goes down during an update or something
wevsspot Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 l33t - before wiping the entire hard drive for a format and reinstall - just uninstall firefox via add/remove programs utility. After that manually delete all firefox/mozilla related files and folders through a manual search. Make sure that you have all files and folders selected for viewing including protected Windows files. Finally - manually go through your registry and delete any registry key with the name Firefox or Mozilla (be careful with this if you're using any other Mozilla software - like thunderbird for instance). Once all of the cleanup is performed - download and install the latest version of Firefox and see if this has fixed your problem.
