Gaming processor?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I' m still searching to upgrade my system, first I wanted to buy

a x6 1055T AMD, But I read that the quad cores perform better in games.

My question is witch processor has the best performance in games?

my budget is around 500 euros (germany). I mostly play games like COD,

crysis, fallout and Metro 2033.

It doesn't have to be an amd

thanks in advance

srry for my bad english

Also, I read that AMD is producing new processors, x8 and x16 ( two x8 in one chip)

schould I wait?

From what I read, they are expected to come out from earliest April to latest Summer. So it depends on if you need your PC now or can wait until the summer.

Also, what is the rest of your system?

Looks like your gonna need a new motherboard and Ram also.

Cpu, if you want to not OC

For gaming OC'ing doesn't really do much, especially at your resolution.

Memory

the only game that is really cpu bound on that list is Metro 2033 the rest is going to be limited to your video card. it also depends on what system you have or want. sounds like to me you don't have anything yet.

Why? It doesn't do anything. AMD+ATI(AMD actually) doesn't give any performance increase, or is this also for looks?

For AMD,

Memory, same as before

For the power supply I have to open my PC, i'll do that tommorow, cause my pc is running hot.

I want to OC the processor only when he becomes to slow. Also I like to edit HD videos with pinnacle.

The memory seems a good choice, tough the processors want last long with those heavy duty games comming out (like crysis 2)

I know that most games depend on gpu, but the prosessor gotta matter at some point ;)

Not the looks, but amd processors got some features (in combination with the mobo) that enhance game performance
