Well, I kind of already have an SSD up there.... 60GB. Should be around enough for an OS.

Edit: I'm also considering switching out the dual 5870s for a single GTX 580. Would this be advisable?

Doesnt really matter what you get, but i would HIGHLY advise against getting 2x 5870's They were great a year and a half ago... not so much now. You have so many options that are SOOO much better, for a similar price.

2x HD 6870's, Even though a single 6870 is not better than a single 58070, in crossfire 2x 6870's has been proven to be significantly better than 2x 5870's due to the amazing Xfire scaling of the 6xxx series from AMD.

2x HD 6950's(2gb, but even the new 1gb would work i guess, not many reviews out yet though on the 1's) Also you can use a BIOs flash on the 2GB versions to make them 6970's with slightly less performance at the difference of $70 cheaper per card, totally worth it.

2x GTX560's, Better than a single 580, at the same price, but the simplicity of the single card and the possible future SLI of a single card is a nice mixture there to take the 580 over the 560's

2x GTX570's, I wouldnt actually recommend these anymore, the 560's kind put the 570 in the same place the 460 put the 470 in. The 560 is cheaper, and after massive OC'ing which is quite easy and safe on the 560's, the 560 is pretty much just as good at the 570 both as a single card and in SLI.

Personally, i want 2x 6950's at the moment, but im broke because my car broke and i bought a brand new one. Gives me time to wait and see how the 6990 is gonna turn out though!! Im looking forward to some epic Tri-Fire with 6990 + 6970!

Also, I dont know if id straight forward recommend Sandy Bridge, its nice, but its expensive, since its release, the price of Socket 1366 and x58 chipset MoBo's have dropped a bit. Will not only give you a better CPU than that AMD, it will also give you x16/x16 on the PCI slots, which is something that the current socket 1155 wont do without outside assistance like from a NF200 chip. Any chance your near the US, and near a Microcenter? Last i knew, they had i7-950's for $200(even cheaper than that Phenom you picked out) and you can get a fantastic Asus Sabertooth x58 Board for >$200 now as well on Newegg.com.

either 2xHD6950 or 2xGTX560, the 5870 is far outdated. (for a month or so, but performance/dollar is really bad on 5870)

and the phenom x6 was a budget option a month or so ago, but now it is just a bad desicion on your budget, get at least a 2500K or wait a few months (a new generation is due in a few months from both amd and intel). (the 2500K wipes the floor with all phenoms right now, and the 2600K even more)

this:

Corsair CMPSU-950TX PSU: $149.99 (the 750W AX is enough and slightly better built)

Corsair Force 60GB SSD: $129.99 (another one for raid?)

Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB Storage Drive: $79.99

LITE-ON iHBS212 12x Blu-ray Burner: $109.99

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus CPU Cooler: $29.99 (really good one!)

TP-LINK TL-WN781ND IEEE 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter: $19.99

Corsair Graphite Series 600T Case: $159.99

Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit: $139.99 (ahem... Really?)

and around 8GB ram is really good though!

So, the following changes have been made to the config:

Phenom II X6 1100T -> i7-2600K

ASUS M4A88T EVO -> ASUS P8P67 PRO

2x SAPPHIRE 5870s in Crossfire -> 2 ASUS ENGTX560 TIs in SLI

I'm also considering switching from the Corsair 600T to the Antec DF-85. Thoughts?
