Cant Overclock!

Cant change the frequency of my cpu for some reason, it's stuck in "auto". help?

how are you trying to change the frequency?

 

and is it a pre build computer? Dell, HP, Gateway etc...? if so thats your problem. Pre builts have the overclocking options in the bios locked

built by hand, with a i5 760 cpu and a Evga p55 FTW mobo.

 

attempting to change the frequency by modifying the "cpu frequency setting" in the bios.
