olokul Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 (edited) Ok so im redoing my computer this weekend. So i thought while i have everything out i would redo all the thermal past. The four pasts in the poll are the main ones i have but i have other random tubes laying around. Right now i'm using ceramique, should i change to something else or just stay with that? edit... I read this on another forum and i was like ???, i'll only use past from a cooler if i run out. "Thermal grease - Drop the AS5, it is electrically conductive,...the grease that comes with the cooler should do just fine" Edited January 18, 2011 by boinker
Speedway Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 The 2 TIM's I love are not on your list! Tuniq TX3 (TX2 is a great performer as well) and Shin-Etsu MicroSi G751
olokul Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 (edited) hmm have to look into geting some Tuniq TX3 and give it a try. the ones in the poll are the ones i pulled out of my thermal past box. how about tx-4 or should i just try the tx-3 Edited January 19, 2011 by olokul

Speedway Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Man, I'm out of the loop, I didn't even know they came out with a TX4! I started using the Shin Etsu and haven't looked back, but I am def going to check out the new TIM from Tuniq!
battery Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 i think nit picking over thermal paste is like picking the hottest girl at ms universe pageant. they're all good with s minor degree in differences.
olokul Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 ok so i bought some tx4 but wont be in till tuesday guess that gives me some time over the weekend to do some wire managment and redo my water loops before it shows up. will see how it holds up to the past i have on it now. Battery a few degrees makes a difference. I've been doing a lot of benchmarking and when i push my cpu to 4.7ghz a few degrees cooler can always help
IVIYTH0S Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 AS5 fails anymore, almost anything is better in both performance and cure time. The TX3 is pretty awesome, I stole my cousin's tube that came with her Core Contact
Speedway Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I know what you are saying battery, but with overclocking, every little bit helps! I mean the minor difference in temps could mean a bigger OC
battery Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 i can't remember the last time 1-3C made a difference. feel free to nit pick. i mean we do still argue over who the hottest ms universe is.
k1e1v1i1n Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 i think the ppl with the highest oc's are putting the least thought into tim and the ppl with the lowest ocs think about tim night and day. 4.531 on AS5 all 4 cores
potatochobit Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 people with the highest overclocks dont use aircoolers it will be harder to see minute differences with water I use zalman thermal grease because utility is more important to me than maximum performance I dont run my computer at highest overclock possible anyway
