@ Bosco - OCC Computer Configurator?

Recommended Posts

The compatibility issue is obviously the biggest hurdle, and it can be handled in many ways:

1) Separate configurators per socket. Cheap and easy, but more long term maintenance

2) Single self-correcting configurator. More expensive and time consuming in the beginning, but only needs maintenance at major architecture changes

3) Newegg parsing self-correcting configurator. Most expensive implementation I can think of, outside of a GUI based solution, but requires practically 0 maintenance unless newegg (or whatever) changes their site dramatically (as newegg recently did.)

The easiest and cheapest?

Just have someone write a few "Notes on using the configurator" at the top, and each dropdown is just an alphabetically sorted list.

Sorry, but I think this is a stupid idea.

That was kind of brutal Clay...................

Psywar's idea I think is a bit easier to handle, not as helpful but nonetheless a great idea for someone looking for an idea. I like the idea of Capitan though, just its very hard to do and a lot of maintenance is required.
