mojunikey7 Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 I just put together new rig last week and it has been working great, but today I Switched out the DVI Cable for an HDMI cable and now when I set the Display to 1980x1080 there is about a quarter inch black border around the screen, instead of the Regular full-screen display that I had with the DVI cable. I have two Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 cards crossfired on an ASUS M4A79T Deluxe mobo, everything was working fine until I tried to switch to HDMI, which is obviously supported by the GPU. Any suggestions? The only resolution that looks normal on full screen is 1680x1050.
Speedway Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 On some monitors, the DVI and HDMI resolutions may vary. I have had a few lcd screens that did that on other outputs. So you just have to stick with DVI to get your desired res IMO
IVIYTH0S Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Yeah just use DVI, you aren't losing any quality believe me
joel.monteiro Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Thats a driver limitation of AMD,i do not know why aren't they fixing it,even when i connect my 4870 to my 40 in lcd 1920x1080p through HDMI,the black border are there, but there is a easy fix, open catalyst control center then on the left upper corner there a is a tab graphics, open it,then go to desktop and displays,on the left bottom corner you will see a picture of a monitor, right click on the monitor and click on configure, over there will be option of scaling it to the size of your monitor.
