Maybe I should start to try and OC my RAM. I've never tried, but if it means that I can get up near your score I'll definitely do it!

Very early on in this very long 3dMark11 post. I did some extensive RAM testing and at least as far as 3dMark11 is concerned, Memory speeds and timings make a HUGE difference in score.

You should definitely give OC'n your memory a shot.

Lowered the timings to 8-8-8-20 t1 and it improved my score to 5641, so it definitely makes a difference! I'll have to play with it some more to see if I can squeeze out that last bit of points :)

It doesn't matter how expensive your parts are. It's how much you can push what you have at your disposal ;)

I Got a better score to report. Put me up a few spots. :D

P7317

I7 920 @ 4.50ghz

Nvidia GTX480 @ 910-1820-2100 @ 1.138v

If you don't mind please trow out my old one W-H.

Thanks, Boinker.

Oh snap I just realized I beat a 580.

I never expected two 6970's to beat two 580's. I wanted three 6970's to beat 2x 580s.

As far as in-game , I do not notice much difference with regard to experience except : Slight stutter in heavy BF3 scenes on ultra with 8xAA and 16xAF and low FPS with 16xAF with one card in Skyrim (Once negative CF scaling in Skyrim is sorted, the Skyrim issue should disappear with 2 cards)

I do however notice decreased noise and temps

On to dual results :

Note : I was unable to get 1000mhz and 1500mhz stable on both nor 975mhz and 1475mhz on both at 1.3v and 100% fan which made me disappointed :(

What I was impressed with, was the ability of these cards to run 950mhz and 1450mhz at only 1.2v and also not needing 100% fan. The fan profile I use was the one I use in gaming .

With 3D Mark 11 I only hit a max speed of 68% on the 2nd card maxing a temp of 68C and 66% on the 1st card at a max temp of 67C (strange as normally the second card runs cooler :-/ )

Running a custom fan profile (as mentioned above) at 950mhz and 1450mhz at 1.2v I scored :

P10794

I am quite happy with this score and with these clocks/temps/noise for 24/7 as I have beaten my old 5870 trifire and Mattys GTX580 SLI

lets see how to say this with out sounding cocky :whistling: but my 480's single and dual cards still beat you scores and that was with old drivers and a first gen i7 950. and in mattys defence hes on an amd chip. but hey like you said "I am quite happy with this score and with these clocks/temps/noise for 24/7 " so  and happy overclocking.

clicking back a forth checking scores i did notice this

single card

P8264 - Nyt Ryda - i7 2600K @ 5.0ghz / GTX 580 1000/2000/2470

P6602 - Nyt Ryda - i7 2600K @ 5.0ghz / HD 69701000/1500

dual card

P13745 - Nyt Ryda - i7 2600k @ 5.0ghz / 2x GTX 580 @ 980/1960/2400

P10794 - Nyt Ryda - i7 2600k @ 5.0ghz / 2x HD 6970 @950/1450

Nice scores Nyt  However, it looks like my 6970's are safely in the top spot for the red team still

Now if Water would get back on and update the scores :whistling:

Yeah these cards dont seem to play nicely together in crossfire :( Looks like one day I will have to fine tune my clocks to see what the highest is that I can get

I have the highest single 6970 score also at 6931, but Water hasn't updated the list for about 5-6 pages
