Haha yeah mobile Kepler is retardily fast. If you think the GT 650M is crazy, check out the GTX 680M. It's pretty much a GTX 670 underclocked with 4GB of memory. It's crazy b/c I get P3100+ on 3DMark and I only draw about 100W max from the wall.

I got my laptop nearly a year ago and the 6770m was absolutely sweet for performance and price and now recently the kepler laptops have been coming at roughly the same price points for the 650m that I got my 6770m. Provided you look and wait for the specials.

I knew they where better but i didn't realize that one generation of mobile GPUs would jump so ridiculously far ahead. It is almost very tempting to sell my laptop invest another $200 and get double the graphics performance.

I know right! I think maybe my next setup will be a laptop/desktop setup like I have now. I've been thinking about getting a MXM based laptop in the future if I ever replace the one I have now.

Pros:

- Less heat

- Silent while light work load, a little noisy while gaming (but nothing like a GTX or HD card going 100%)

- Easy maintenance

- Space saver

- Detachable and mobile while still retaining the power

Cons:

- Limited upgrading options compared custom desktops (unless you have the higher end, more bulky MXM GPU laptops)

Ashley (yes I actually named my card  ) is under water now :teehee: Using EK Acetal + Copper 7970 waterblock with EK custom 7970 backplate

P11482 at 1325MHz Core and 1875MHz Mem

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/4282901

GPU temps for this massive benchmarking and gaming overclock is in the low 40C's and VRM temps are now low 40C's

Edit : Driver is AMD's official 12.8 WHQL for anyone who is wondering

id go high on my overclock but i sold my 680 :whistling: but ive got my funds ready for either next gen card or 7990 when it is released

and besides my $110 470's i don't enen notice a difference and actually they only cost me $70 since i traded a headset for the second one.

nice score though not as high as i expected :whistling:

Geez, I'm gone a few days, and Nyt is back to having an HD 7970, again, but instead of two, just one. :pfp:

The last time I had two 7970s was in April

Had this new HD7970 for just over 2 months, before this I had a GTX670 and before that I had a GTX580 and before that I had 2x560 non-Ti and before that I had just one GTX560 non-Ti and before that I had my 7970 CF and before that I had one 7970 and before that I had 6970 CF and before that I had one 6970 and before that I had 580 SLI and before that I had one GTX580 and before that I had a 6870 and before that I had 5970+5870 and before that I had just a 5970 and before that I had a GTX480 and before that I had a GTX470 and before that I had a HD5850 and before that I had a HD5770 and before that I had a GTX260 216sp and before that I had a 9800GT and before that I had a 8600GT and before that I think I had a Nvidia 6600 but I cant rememer :P
