Priority: snappy responsiveness, QUIET

This November 16 Tuesday edition review should be all that is needed, Zalman CNPS9900 MAX CPU Cooler @ Benchmark Reviews.

If you're going to run twin 24" monitors and do any gaming whatsoever I'd also opt for a GTX460 1Gb card as previously recommended.

@ IVIYTH0S: Likely just the one monitor. I'm really not that much of a gamer, but I like to have the option.

@wevsspot: Go Hogs!

@sticksnstone: Yeah, I've used Zalman products in the past and I had considered it this time as well, but I don't want any LEDs, I'll have to look over Neweggs options

Are the processor/mb/memory choices above solid? That's my big concern. I am at an age where I place a lot of value on stability. I like to tinker, but I don't like to HAVE to tinker.

Thanks for the feedback so far guys,

Bruce

I've decided on this and have ordered the parts:

CPU AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2 Ghz Six Core

MB Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5 AMD 890 FX SATA III USB 3.0

GPU EVGA 768-P3-1360-TR GeForce GTX 460

RAM Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3

SSD OCZ RevoDrive X2 PCI-Express x4 100GB 740/690 MB/s

PSU Seasonic SS560-KM 560W 80 Plus Gold Certified

HsC Scythe SCMG-2100 Sleeve CPU Cooler

DVD ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Combo

In my old custom LianLi Brushed Aluminum case

with 120x38mm Panaflo Quiet Fan

Including a copy of Windows 7 (even tho I swore never to buy an MS OS again), ran me 1440 from Newegg, although they were cool enough to inexplicably give me a preferred account so I don't even have to pay for it now, can wait till I get my financial aid in January, wee!
