xPETEZx Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Hi Guys, I am trying to get rid of the terrible idea RAID 0 OS disk array in my server. I have got 2x 500GB disks which I have configured into a RAID 1 array. All I need now is a bit of software that will do a data level (including boot stuffs, so no DriveImage XML ) clone of my RAID 0 array to my RAID 1 array. I though this would be easy, as I have done this many times with single disk to single disk set-ups. Well, I was wrong. I have tried both Clonezilla & EASEUS bootable disk cloning software. The problem is they do NOT see the disks as members of RAID arrays, they just see the disks. Does anyone know of a preferably FREE solution to doing this? I hear everyone raves on about Acronis True Image, but I really do not want to spend that kind of money on a bit of software that I will use once and then never again. (I have had it with RAID setups.) Thanks!
xPETEZx Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 never mind. A friend brought over his copy of Acronis Ture Image rescue CD, and that did the trick.

davidst Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 well if any one knows of a free one that works it would be nice to know, just in case Western Digital provides it free if one of your drives is a WD even if it's USB http://support.wdc.com/product/downloaddetail.asp?swid=
SpeedCrazy Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Thats good to know. Does it only work on WD drives, or is it 1 of the drives has to be WD?
Speedway Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Thats good to know. Does it only work on WD drives, or is it 1 of the drives has to be WD? Nope works on any drive! SpeedCrazy Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 So how do they make sure only people with WD drives use it. If they dont it defeats the object of there being a retail version.

I do know I used it to clone my SSD RAID 0 array to a 400GB Seagate Barracuda. Then back off of the Seagate onto the Intel SSD Raid 0 array after a Windows 7 reinstall!
