lnsaneM Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 I have a FX 6801 (i think that's correct) computer by Gateway. I want to buy a solid state drive around 50 to 100 gigs, install it and use it as my primary boot up hard drive to boost the speed of my computer a little bit. Is this even possible to do on a name brand computer that has the operating system installed on a specific hard drive? please help me... thanks
ebarone Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Sure, its not that difficult. Get yourself Acronis TrueImage and simply clone your current drive onto the SSD, then remove the current drive and boot from the solid state. Then you can wipe the old drive and use it as backup or just extra storage. AFAIK there is no limitation on name brand computers thats any different from a custom one.
