Classic Everquest

I have been craving the old school gaming I used to experience in everquest when it was in its glory years.

WoW has just gotten so generic/easy and boring that I could not even imagine playing it again.

I was very disappointed when Sony made that 50/51 server instead of the classic server.

But good news, I just found a emulated everquest server that is actually classic!

Check out: http://www.project1999.org/

If you follow the install instructions you can even turn on the old music again.

This is the closest thing I have seen to classic EQ ... since.... classic EQ lol.

The player base is decently large with over 800 people on the server at times.

So far it is only the original game and no expansions, the are working on Kunark however and are stopping the expansions with Velious.

Best of all its 100% FREE , you just have to have the titanium edition of the game (or find a torrent).

I just started yesterday, and am playing a woodelf Rogue named Platonic.

Feel free to message me in game if you join in the fun/torture of classic EQ.

Also make sure you read the server rules/FAQ because some things are different (like if you put anything in the shared bank it will disappear forever)

So who else wants to experience pleasure/pain of Evercrack again?

never played it....

but the Monster-in-law is a chronic EQ player....and has been since I have known her for the last 10 years...

I can attest she's a real grump if you bug her during Raid time :)

My cousin used to play this like a mad man.

I have to say it is THE MOST addictive game I have ever played.

Everquest is the crack-cocaine of MMOs, while WoW is like Mountain Dew.
