H4v0K_2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Hi, just a question, i need (want) a new heatsink for my rig and i was looking at the thermaltake frio and coolermaster v8 and couldnt make up my mind. just wanted any opinions or suggestions for better models. plus i was looking at getting some custom cooling (fan if possible) for a GTX 470. it runs at around 60-70 degrees Celsius and i was just a little concerned, Thanks... MercuryDoun Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Frio for sure if those are your only two options, V8 is da poop. I really like my Megahalems though. i7-930 @ 4.2Ghz only 75c on hottest core, yum. But with both 120mm fans i ordered with it, it was like $75 bucks, so maybe more than you want to spend. If your 470 is running 60-70c in a game im pretty sure that fine. Those cards an take upto 95c with little issue.
wevsspot Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 H4v0K_2010, Any particular reason you settled on those two as potential choices? There are much better air coolers out there. Is there a budget limitation?
H4v0K_2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 yer im trying to keep it under $100 AU, the frio is going for $76 or i can get a Noctua SE-14 for $93. If the store has got any of the Frio's in stock i'll probably grab one of them in the next two weeks. I'll post screencaps of what my cpu hits when i get it. Thanks guys
