Iphone. Never again.

As I am sure many of you iPhone 3G owners have noticed, iOS4 came out. Enormous lag, almost no new features and shorter battery life. None of my gaming apps work anymore ,and those normal apps that do either have 10 sec freezing moments or simply crashing to the home screen. The new update is supposed to fix this but I am not that confident. The worst part is, you can't even revert to 3.1.3 (I tried to with a jailbreak but was not successful)! I had minimum lag on 3.1.3. and I do not see any real differences between ios4 and 3.1.3 I can tell you one thing, I will NEVER buy an iPhone again. Ever. Looking forward to the time I will buy a new phone.

I upgraded to iOS4 on day one for my 3GS. Initially there were some apps that didn't work, as not all developers released updates, but after about 3 days later, I haven't had any problems with apps. Response time is also much faster in iOS4, the folders are an extremely welcome addition, as I had maxxed out my apps prior to the new OS, and I haven't experienced any decrease in battery life.

I have no problem bashing Apple, as I'm sure many here can attest to, but iOS4 has been good to me so far.

My parents both have the 3GS series and have had about as many problems with the iOS 4 update as they did on 3. However, one of my co-workers has a 3G and he constantly complaining about how bad it is (he even says that he has problems answering calls). All of the people I have mentioned have expressed disinterest in getting the iPhone 4, my co-worker even going so far to say that his next phone will be an Android-based one.

On that note, what Android phone would you say is the best one to get? Only thing holding back my co-worker is the vast amount of them out there so he is not sure which to get...

I am not sure; the nexus one does look rather appealing, however I have not made a decision.

Which is why I specifically stated my version :P.

It was stated pretty much everywhere that the majority of features in iOS4 were only available to the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4.

It sucks that you can't revert back.

My co-worker just did this over the weekend, so it IS possible but I have no idea how much work went into doing it.

You can do it you just have to have saved a backup of the old firmware and some SHSH file or something. I looked into this for my iPod as I accidentally upgraded the firmware for it, I forgot to backup my old firmware and now I can't revert back to the old one so I can jailbreak it.

This site explains it better than I can. http://www.saurik.com/id/12 This is one of the guys that helped make jailbreakme.
