Monitor Connection

Recommended Posts

Hi I am just getting ready to buy the ASUS P6X8D motherboard when i realized there is no port for a D-sub monitor. Do i have to buy a video card to hook up the monitor or do i just buy a jack converter? i had been hoping to use the integrated graphics for a while whilst i decided on and got money for a GPU.

This is probably a dumb question but i dont know anything about this, my old motherboard had its own D-sub Jack.

Thanks

Yeah, that motherboard doesn't have video at all. You have to buy a graphics card in order to get a functioning computer. PCI-E.

To hook it up to your computer, just get the converter D-sub to DVI. Should be included in your graphics card box.

What kind of comp are you building? I see that your going for i7 - 1366. Do you have any experience building computers?
