Sleinous Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 So i'm trying to find a 1TB HDD for a SATA I board, but most seem to be SATA II anyway, would there be any objection to installing a SATA II HDD even if I just used SATA I cable? Would it still run at SATA I or would it just refuse to recognise it? Nemo Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 The SATA II specification is backward compatible with the original SATA specification so that would not be an issue. Some drives require you to use a jumper setting to force it to 150Mbps but you should be fine otherwise.
