Silly Question

So i'm trying to find a 1TB HDD for a SATA I board, but most seem to be SATA II anyway, would there be any objection to installing a SATA II HDD even if I just used SATA I cable? Would it still run at SATA I or would it just refuse to recognise it?

The SATA II specification is backward compatible with the original SATA specification so that would not be an issue. Some drives require you to use a jumper setting to force it to 150Mbps but you should be fine otherwise.

Also, when I looked at the specs of this mini pc, it said 2x sata connectors and 1x PATA but having looked inside there are clearly 4x SATA lol :/ Bit confused:
