Rankiz Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 As described in my signature, is there anything of importance you think I should switch out? The computer is like, nearly one year old. I haven't overclocked anything tho. CPU temps on 45 idle and 55-70 under load.
nVidia_Freak Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 If there's nothing your're unhappy with performance wise then save your money for a little bit. The only thing that seems mildly out of place is the 4890, but, if you feel it's pulling it's weight and you don't play a lot of DX11 titles then use it until it gets to the point where you feel it isn't holding up. Locutus Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Rig sounds solid, the only thing I'd upgrade if I were you would be the graphics card. But as nVidia_Freak said, the 4890 is a pretty good card as it is so you might as well save up for a bit.
damian Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 If it does what it should, might as well save your money or use it for something else. But it you feel like going through that new hardware smell that's another story.

GabrielT Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 4890's are great cards, don't waste your money if you don't feel you really need to have a little more power. If you upgrade the graphics card you might have to change your case because I know how cramped the antec 300 can be.
ebarone Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 SSD!! You're still using a mechanical HDD! Get a couple SSD's and RAID them up, thats where you'll see the biggest performance boost to that system.
Krieg1337 Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 +1 for SSD's. That or the GPU. I think though, if you don't care about DX11 and what some overall better speed in opening/copying files go get some nice SSD's!
IVIYTH0S Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 There's always dropping another 4890 in for CF
Drdeath Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Get a decent aftermarket air cooling solution, overclock it and start benching the snot out of it.
ellisbodds Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Upgrade to 5870? Anything below that probably isn't worth upgrading to. The 4890 is still a great card performance wise, it just doesn't have the new fangled technology like DX11.
road-runner Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Yes, if I where you I would invest in 4 ssds, a 980x and 3 GTX 480s....
