megavyrus Posted August 2, 2002 Posted August 2, 2002 Yep, still use floppies..mostly when installing os's .. i kinda trust the floppy more than the cd when it comes to that.. don't know why... maybe due to all kind of unpleasant experiences with cd's in dos and when no OS is there.. Like, recently I spent about 7 hours trying to figure out why my windows xp installation would freeze at 21%. After 7 hours of rage, i put in my old bootable floppy and there it goes installing just fine... until then I had used a boot cd... The raid controller driver is on a floppy... I make image files of my hard drive and it takes about 200 floppies, that is a very tedious procedure... It only takes about 4-5 hours though... Just kidding.. are you nuts? Another annoying thing is partition magic.. it simply doesn't want to run off a cd in dos ... why????? so i'm stuck with a floppy for that too .. Now I'll stop 'cause i'm at work and it is not good for my health remembering all this ..
