Eva_Unit_0 Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 You should be able to keep the ram at the tightest timings, no problem. You're only starting at 133fsb, and that ram can run at tight timings up to at least 250fsb. (it's max rated speed) Lets see...2800/133=21 21 x 250 = 5250mhz. If you get your fsb up to the memory's max rated speed, your chip would be running at 5250mhz ...don't think that one's going to happen. Thus, you can just keep your memory at straight 2's for timings since you'll never hit its max speed anyway.
viets7ylez Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 it doesnt give me the options to put the second timing at 2! lol but i can get everything else at 2 the lowest i can put the second one is 4 =[

Is the Hyper X 4000 you have the one that has 3-4-4-8 timings marked on it? That is what mine is, when I was using that RAM I could never get over around 3.5 stable with a 3.2C I think it is because of the timings on that ram and I am not sure what chips are in that RAM either but it may be the chips also. I could not ever get a decent overclock stable with the Hyper X, I changed to OCZ 4200 enchanced latency with stcok timing of 2.5-4-4-7 its great RAM. I am not familar with that motherboard but you need to be able to set the RAM voltage up to around 3 volts. I had to do a voltage mod on the asus to get it. Eva_Unit_0 Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 Hmm...well, I'm no p4 expert here. (athlon all the way) Thus, I'll have to leave this one to road-runner and nuclear. Don't want to give you any wrong advice.
